Poets, Asthma and the Rain Forest…Oh My!
What do all of these things have in common? They are all areas of faculty research that have received a Dean’s Research Council (DRC) grant over the past eight years. When you donate to the DRC, you provide seed money for faculty research projects in the early stages of development. And today we have a generous donor who is willing to match gifts to the DRC up to $10,000!
With the availability of external funding from government, foundations and other sponsoring agencies dwindling, national competition for those funds has increased enormously.
Your gift to the DRC allows faculty members to get new projects off the ground and develop proof-of-concept and other means for demonstrating project viability. This, in turn, positions them to apply more competitively for significant external funding. In fact, Dean’s Research Council grantees have demonstrated a 10 to 1 return on your investment with the federal and foundational support for their innovative research projects have garnered.
