SMU Giving Day is our annual one-day giving challenge uniting every member of the Mustang community with easy and fun ways to support our favorite causes.

WHY SHOULD I GIVE TO SMU?

When you give to SMU, you shape people and programs who are changing the world – and you invest in a new generation of world changers. SMU donors power the University’s rise in impact and national prominence – and they secure the foundation for even more ambitious efforts in the decades ahead.

I’M NOT SURE WHAT AREA OF SMU I WANT TO SUPPORT. HOW DO I KNOW WHERE TO GIVE FOR SMU GIVING DAY?

SMU Giving Day supports every area of the University, so give to what you are passionate about. Visit the SMU Giving Day Champion Volunteer page to explore all of the great causes.

HOW WILL MY GIFT BE USED?

This will depend on the campaign or fund you support. Each fund’s campaign page has a short description.

HOW DO I MAKE MY GIFT?

Giving links will open up for 24 hours beginning March 11 at 12:01am. In the meantime, browse through the many campaign pages to find the projects that you would like to support.

CAN I GIVE THROUGH A DAF?

Yes. Complete this form to have a grant from your DAF included in our totals. If you have any questions about making a grant via a Donor-Advised Fund, please email us at plannedgiving@smu.edu. If you need more information or assistance with making your gift, call us at 214-768-3739 (between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. CST on Giving Day) or email us anytime at gifts@smu.edu. 

CAN I SEND A GIFT BY MAIL OR PHONE?

Due to the short time frame of SMU Giving Day, only gifts made online or by phone are guaranteed to count toward the challenge. To give by phone, you may call 214-768-3834 from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. CST on March 11.

WHEN WILL CHALLENGE WINNERS AND RECIPIENTS BE ANNOUNCED?

Winners will be announced on social media and on the Challenges page of the SMU Giving Day website after the challenge is over.
