12 a.m. – 9 a.m. | Early Bird ($1,000)
The two funds with the highest number of gifts before 9 a.m. will each earn an extra $1,000.

9 a.m. – 11 a.m. | Research Funds ($2,500)
The research fund with the most gifts between 9 and 11 a.m. earns an extra $2,500.
Winner: SMU DataArts
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Student Relief ($5,000)
The student emergency cause that receives the most gifts during this timeframe will receive an extra $5,000.
Winner: First-Generation College Student Success Fund
12 p.m. – 2 p.m. | Diamond M Club ($2,500)
When 25 donors make gifts of $25 or more to the Diamond M Club, unlock an additional $2,500 from the Hathorne Family to the fund. Hubba!

1 p.m. – 3 p.m. | Academic Programs ($2,500)
The academic program with the most gifts between 1 and 3 p.m. will receive an extra $2,500.
Winner: SMU Mock Trial
3 p.m. – 5 p.m. | Spirit Groups ($1,000)
The SMU spirit group with the most gifts between 3 and 5 p.m. will earn an extra $1,000.
Winner: Diamond M Club
5 p.m. – 6 p.m. | Happy Hour ($5,000)
$5,000 will be distributed among the top causes supported between 5 and 6 p.m.
6 p.m. – 8 p.m. | Peruna Power Up Challenge ($1,000)
Make a gift to a student organization participating in the Peruna Power Up Challenge. The organization with the most gifts during this timeframe will earn an extra $1,000.
Winner: Alpha Kappa Alpha
8 p.m. – 10 p.m. | Athletics Excellence Funds ($2,000)
The top two SMU Athletics Excellence Funds with the most gifts during these hours will each receive an extra $1,000.
Winners: Mustang Excellence Fund for Women's Rowing, Mustang Excellence Fund for Equestrian
9 p.m. – 11:59 p.m. | Final Push ($5,000)
$5,000 will be unlocked and divided among the top causes supported during this timeframe.

Peruna Power Up Challenge (PPUC) – powered by The Union ($24,000)
Calling all alumni, parents, students, friends and supporters. On March 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (CST), join us on the Hilltop for a one-of-a-kind SMU Giving Day experience inside Armstrong Fieldhouse. Mingle with other Mustangs and enjoy food, drinks, entertainment and fun surprises – all to help your favorite student organizations as they compete to unlock more than $24,000 in matching funds.
Participate in a variety of fun activities to earn “votes” that you can distribute to your favorite cause(s) tabling on-site. The top organizations in each category with the highest number of votes will receive a share of the challenge funds:
Greek organizations (divided by size: large or small)
- $3,000 (x2) Alpha Kappa Alpha, Beta Upsilon Chi
- $2,000 (x2) Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon
- $1,000 (x2) Alpha Phi Alpha, Sigma Nu
Student organizations (divided by size: large or small)
- $3,000 (x2) Mock Trial, Student Foundation
- $2,000 (x2) Global Health Brigades, Program Council
- $1,000 (x2) Club Baseball, Earth Focus
Paint the Map Challenge ($2,500)
Have you left the great state of Texas? This challenge is for you. Today Mustangs across the U.S. are showing their pony pride. To prove it, SMU will donate an additional $2,500 to the Study Abroad Program Fund when at least one donor from each of the 50 states makes an SMU Giving Day gift before midnight tonight.
