The SMU Water Polo Club is more than just a sports team; it's a thriving community dedicated to fostering physical engagement, competition, and camaraderie. Our organization proudly serves 25 talented young men who are not only committed to excelling in one of the most challenging sports but also in their academic and professional pursuits at SMU and beyond. We champion good health, strong relationships, and the spirit of competition, making us the leading aquatic voice on campus. This year, we are excited to expand our reach by developing a women's program, with over 15 enthusiastic participants ready to form a competitive team.

The funds raised during SMU Giving Day will be crucial in supporting this initiative, allowing us to reserve necessary space at SMU and cover additional facility fees imposed by the university. These funds will also help us provide team uniforms and travel assistance, ensuring that all members, regardless of financial background, can participate fully in competitions. Our long-term vision includes establishing an NCAA official varsity team, promoting the sport of water polo across the nation. Since our inception in February of last year, the support from the SMU community has been overwhelming. We achieved chartered status in under two weeks—a rare feat—and grew to over 20 members within a month.
