Your Gift Makes a Difference!

The First-Generation Initiative (FGI) was established in 2019. Its mission is to advocate and support the success of first-generation college students by offering events, programs, and funding as well as meaningful connections through mentorship, academic counseling, and collaboration with campus partners.

Help our first-generation Mustangs graduate in style! Thanks to the generous support of Greg Lebedev and Suzanne Clark, gifts to the First-Generation Graduation Regalia Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $2,500.

Donations are applied to...

Graduation is an exciting time for all students, but it's truly a momentous occasion for the first-generation college student, who is the first in their family to graduate with a bachelor's degree! FGI would like to help first-gen students who are burdened with the cost of graduation.

The cost of the cap and gown required to participate in the commencement ceremony can exceed $125.00 (depending on the program). FGI  will use all donations for the purchase of graduation regalia, so that our first-gen graduates in need (and their family/supporters) can joyfully participate in graduation and not feel weighed down by additional costs.

Thanks To Our Recent Donors!
