Small Business and Trademark Clinic
The Small Business and Trademark Clinic provides free legal services to new and existing small businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations that do not have access - or cannot afford - legal services. The clinic operates as a law firm to provide law students with the tools they need to become competent transactional lawyers and positively impact the community with low-cost legal assistance to local business owners and nonprofits. As associate members of the State Bar of Texas, law students gain experience and practical legal skills by working with real clients on matters such as entity formation, company agreements, licenses, nondisclosure agreements and trademark applications. They also research and file trademark applications, communicating with trademark attorneys from the USPTO.
- $25 - Secretary of State filing fee for a client to form a Texas nonprofit corporation ($275-$600 IRS filing fees)
- $250 - USPTO filing fee for trademark application
- $300 - Secretary of State filing to form an LLC

Student Bar Association
The Student Bar Association is a student-run organization that serves as the mediator between the law student body and the Dedman School of Law administration. The SBA’s primary purpose is to organize and plan social events that bring law students together on and off campus, as well as manage all law student organizations.
The SBA organizes various events throughout the year, including our Wellness Wednesdays, bar reviews, tailgates, chili cook-off, talent show, crawfish boil, intramural sports, 1L elections and the Barristers Ball. Moreover, the SBA designs law school merchandise both in the fall and spring and plans off-campus events at fitness studios around Dallas. The SBA also works closely with the administration in planning the 1L Orientation, Organization Fair, Inn Olympics and Presidents’ Dinner.
All funds raised directly help the Student Bar Association improve the social and mental livelihood of all law students. Thank you for your support through Giving Day this year!
