Mustang Excellence Fund for Men's Golf
The Mustang Excellence Fund for Men's Golf is vital in maintaining this success. Many of the team's achievements are due to the support of Mustang fans and alumni, whose generosity provides resources for men's golf student-athletes to excel. Past contributions have enhanced the men's golf training facilities and equipment and increased their travel budget to attend elite tournaments. With our transition into the ACC, your support will fund needs that are not met by the program's annual budget, fueling new opportunities for this program to pursue excellence in all its endeavors. This year, men's golf has identified a couple of key needs to take their program to the next level: enhancing recruiting and equipment funds to enhance the student-athlete experience along with attracting and retaining top-level student-athletes. Help us achieve our goal of $15,000 for this important initiative.
Mustang Excellence Fund for SMU Football
Mustang Excellence Fund for Women's Golf
The SMU women's golf program has a proud history, highlighted by 15 NCAA/AIAW Championship appearances and an AIAW national title earned in 1979. The team has secured four team conference championships, including back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, the program boasts 23 All-American golfer selections and five individual conference champions throughout its history. Much of this success is a direct result of the dedication, commitment and support of Mustang fans and alumni whose collective generosity has helped provide the best possible resources for the women's golf student-athletes. Past contributions to the Women's Golf Excellence Fund have provided the team with facility enhancements, two full swing kits and other impactful resources. With our transition into the ACC, your support is more crucial than ever. Contributions toward the Women's Golf Excellence Fund play a vital role in enhancing the program's recruiting efforts, enabling us to attract and retain top-tier student-athletes by providing them with first-class resources.
Mustang Excellence Fund for Women's Rowing
The SMU women's rowing program has achieved remarkable success, securing four consecutive conference championships from 2021Ð24. The team has also made four NCAA Championship appearances, achieving a program-best ninth-place finish in 2023, and has produced 10 All-American rowers in its history. Last season's success was driven by the generous support of Mustang fans and alumni. Last year, contributions to the Women's Rowing Excellence Fund enabled the team to compete at the prestigious Henley Regatta in England. This experience not only bolstered SMU women's rowing's recruiting efforts but also strengthened team cohesion and enhanced international awareness of the SMU brand. We invite you to support the SMU women's rowing program by making a gift to the Women's Rowing Excellence Fund. Your support will empower student-athletes to achieve excellence and uphold SMU's high standards of competitive success.
Mustang Rocketry
Mustang Rocketry serves the greater Lyle and SMU community interested in hands-on experience in aerospace engineering. The purpose of Mustang Rocketry is to develop, design, build and test rockets for research and competition. Mustang Rocketry creates a space for peer mentorship of SMU students interested in high-power rocketry certifications and aerospace engineering projects.
Currently, our remaining budget for Level 1 and Level 2 high-power certifications allows for one more student to pursue the process, with seven students currently working on their certification or having already achieved it in fall 2024.
Your support during SMU Giving Day will directly impact our ability to fund additional students' certification builds and to attend the 2026 Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition, the world's largest international rocketry competition and conference, in June 2026. The competition consists of building and launching a rocket with a payload size of 2.2 pounds to a target altitude of either 10,000 feet or 30,000 feet.
Our organization's goal of $10,000 on SMU Giving Day will allow us to complete our IREC rocket build, as well as fund our team's attendance at IREC and to continue the certification program for more students.
